SHOPPING OUR STASH #182 - Thrice as Nice

Good morning peeps! Happy New Year's Eve Eve! LOL! I hope all who celebrated had a very festive Christmas!

We have a new challenge starting today at SHOPPING OUR STASH! Thrice as nice! What does that mean? We would like for you to create something using at least 3 patterned papers! Pretty simple, huh? Here's the card I made:

 Here's the inside:

I saw this card by Melania Deasy, and knew I was going to CASE it. (Thank you Melania!) But instead of a Christmas card, I made a birthday card. I'm all Christmas carded out, so it was a nice change of pace to get back to making a birthday card. ☺

Ready to play along? Just use at least three patterned papers on your card/project and link it up at Shopping Our Stash! When you're there, check out what my teammies came up with to amaze and inspire you! Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a safe and Happy New Year!!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #24 Y is for YUCK!

Welcome back from the chaos that is Christmas! I hope everyone had a wonderful time with family and friends! Just one more celebration to get thru (NYE) and then you can sit back and relax. ☺

For our next challenge at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS, we want you to use something in your crafty arsenal that you don't like! Have paper you can't stand? Use it! Some hideous embellishments? Use them! (Just let us know what it is!) Here's my card:

 Here's the inside:

My 'yuck' item is this card kit I won a few years ago. I found it buried at the bottom of one of my paper collection piles. (yeah, I have a few piles. I may be a paper hoarder. *cough cough *) I really don't like the colors or the homespun look of this kit. Sorry. But it was a quick card to make with all pieces included, so there ya go. ☺

Now it's your turn to create something with a 'yucky' item(s) from your stash! Be sure to link it up at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so we can see it. Please also check out what my Sisters and our newest Guest Designer, Veerle, have created for your viewing pleasure! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great day! Happy New Year all!

JUST US GIRLS #273 - Photo Week

Happy Saturday and welcome to another fun challenge at JUST US GIRLS! This week is photo week and Nancy is your Hostess! She found this very fun picture to inspire you:

You may think that I would have gone with the obvious and used a bunch of circles and at least one elephant on my card. But nooooo, not me. I'm a rebel that way! LOL! I did use the colors though. That's what I was inspired by looking at this pic. See what I mean?

 Here's the inside:

I don't own any pink ink pads, so I simply did some second generation stamping with a red ink pad. Wah-la! Pink ink! It seems like all I've been making the last couple of months are holiday themed cards, so it was a nice change of pace to actually get back to making birthday cards. Good thing too. My stash of birthday cards is sadly lacking. ☺

I hope you find some time between taking advantage of all those after Christmas steals and deals to play along! LOL! Just link up your card or project at Just of Girls! We want to see it! While there, please check out the projects my teammates, and our December Guest Designer, Lee Ann Barrett, have created for your viewing pleasure. Remember that if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our challenges in December, you'll be in the running for our Guest Designer for February! How cool is that?!

Thanks for hanging out and I hope you have a great day. Stay crafty, my friends!

JUST US GIRLS #272 - Color Week

Hello and good morning all! It's color week at JUST US GIRLS! Ina is your hostess this week and she found this gorgeous picture to inspire you:

Don't be alarmed that there are five colors. We want you to use a minimum of three of them, but you can use all five if you want. I tried to incorporate all five into my card:

 Here's the inside:

I stamped the image onto water color paper, then used a water pen and distress inks to color it. Some of the colors bled into others, but that's ok - this is art peeps! LOL! After everything was adhered, I added Stickles to all the ornaments and the star for some sparkle. ☺

I hope you get the chance to play along! Simply link up your card at Just Us Girls! While there, please be sure to leave some bloggy love for my teammies, and our December Guest Designer, Lee Ann Barrett! Remember that if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of the December challenges, you will be in the running to be our Guest Designer for February!

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #181 - RED Alert!

Hiya!

Red Alert? What does that mean? Well, this week over at SHOPPING OUR STASH, the challenge is for you to use the color RED in your design. Keep in mind, we don't mean for you to slap a red rhinestone on your project and call it done. NOOOOO, we want to see a lot of red on your creation. Also, with Christmas getting close, this will be a two week challenge! Here's what I came up with:

 Here's the inside:

This was so fast to create. A card base, a bit of DP (the sheet music), and a dimensional Santa sticker. A stamped sentiment on the inside and BOOM! Done! The Santa sticker is all glittery on his beard, white trim and the snowflakes, but for some reason it didn't want to sparkle when I took my pictures. I'm still itching to add something, anything, to this card. It's so CAS! Where are my beloved layers?! GAH!

Anywhooo, if you are in need of making those last minute Christmas cards, this is the challenge for you! Just link up your card or project at Shopping Our Stash so we can see it. ☺ While there, why not check out what my teammies created and please leave them some bloggy love! I hope you all have a joyous and wonderful Christmas! Thanks for stopping by!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #23 - N is for ......

Naughty Christmas card or project!

Edna is all set to be merry at the Ugly Sweater party!!

Seriously, this couldn't be a surprise to you, considering it's the Sisterhood, and we just had a profanity challenge. A naughty Christmas card/project was a given! LOL! Here's the card I made. Warning: Sexual content. If you have the kiddies around, you may want to send them away for a bit:

You've been warned:

 Here's the inside....

Yep. that's right. I went there! LOL! And see what I did there? The background paper has stockings on it! Buahahaha! I had the sentiment in my head, but needed the right image to go with it. Luckily, The Stamping Chef came to the rescue! This was so much fun to color. I went over the trim with diamond stickles and added Glossy Accents to the ornament. I think I might add 'Happy Birthday' to the inside and give this to Andy for his birthday card. (He's a Christmas Eve baby!) LOL!

Ready to play along? Go and let your freak flag fly! Just make sure you link up at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so we can see it! Please do check out what my Sistahs and our newest guest designer came up with to make you blush and laugh out loud! You won't be disappointed!

JUST US GIRLS #271 - Trend Week!

Hiya friends! We have a fun new challenge at JUST US GIRLS! Maria is our hostess this week and the trend she picked is mixed media!

I have to admit, I was a little nervous about this. I love to look at all the incredible mixed media art out there, but it's not something that I would normally get into. But, what's a challenge if it doesn't do just that - challenge you! So here is my lame attempt at mixed media:

 the inside:

I used 3 colors of Distress Inks to create my ombre background, then spritzed water on it. (my water spritzer drips blobs of water rather than spritzes. Might be time to get a new one. ☺) After that dried, I spritzed pearl Glimmer Mist over it. The picture below shows the shimmer a little. (sort of maybe)

Once that was dry, I got out a stencil and embossing paste to make the falling snow. For the rest, I stamped the snowman, fussy cut hills, embossing two of them, and stamped the sentiment on the third one. Went over the edges with DI and adhered with foam squares.

I have to say, this was a lot of fun to make, and I think I'll be making some more mixed media cards soon. ☺

Now it's your turn! Link up your project at Just Us Girls! Please be sure to check out what my teammies, and our December Guest Designer, Lee Ann Barrett, made for your viewing pleasure! Remember, if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our December challenges, you will be in the running for our Guest Designer for the month of February! Cool Beans!

Ooooh! Sparkle! I love sparkly things! Especially on cards, so here's what I made:

Here's the inside:

I made the background panel using a stencil and Distress Ink. I took a bit of green glitter paper, cut a curve in it and adhered on top of that. (and used the other piece on the inside! Woot!) Once I stamped the sentiment, I went back over all the swirls with diamond Stickles. Yep. SPARKLY!!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #22 - V is for Vintage!

Hello Snarky Peeps! We have a new challenge this fortnight at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS! We are toning it down this go around. I guess. Maybe. Well, you'll see! It's V for Vintage!

Edna has the coolest toys!!! I'd be happy to be her designated driver if I got to drive around in this sleek little number! LOL!

Anyhooo, here is the card I created:

 And the inside:

Nothing screams vintage to me more than G45 papers, and when I saw this card by Robin Shakoor, I knew I had to CASE it! (Thank you Robin!) Inking and distressing the card panels lends to the vintage vibe of my card. And bonus, I used more chipboard pieces! Woot Woot! I found this gorgeous reddish/orange crinkle ribbon in my stash which paired beautifully with the colors in the paper collection. A stamped sentiment completes the inside. No snark this time. I just couldn't go there with this card! LOL!

So, ready to play along? Sure you are! Don't forget to link up your creation at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! Oh, and please leave some bloggy love for my Sistahs, and our newest guest designer, Linda! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!

So, of course, I made a Christmas card!

 and the inside:

I just loved this cute little skiing bunny, so I had to use him. I found paper scraps to go with the colors I used and stamped my sentiment on all of them. I used a snowflake EF to add to the snow theme, and finished the inside with that bunny and another sentiment.

I can't wait to see what you create! Please join us at Just Us Girls for the Wild Card challenge! Be sure to see what our November guest designer, Tajanna, and my teammies created! JUST US GIRLS #268 - Photo Week

Hello crafty peeps! We have a new challenge at JUST US GIRLS! Cheryl is our hostess this week and she found this gorgeous photo as our inspiration:

To me, this had a Norman Rockwell type of vibe to it, so that's what I went with:

 Here's the inside:

I love it when the paper collection does all the work for you! LOL! I think what took the longest putting this card together was inking all the panel edges! ☺

Shopping Our Stash #178 - Thanks!

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH! It's all about being thankful, whether it be a thank you/I'm grateful card, or a Thanksgiving card or project, with that holiday fast approaching in the States, we want to see it! Here's what I came up with:

 Here's the inside:

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #162, which ended yesterday. (I'm always late to the party!) All the papers are from the same collection. I used this gold paper that has a subtle shimmer on it for the main panel and the inside. (That paper was really hard to photograph. It looks more like kraft, plus you can't really see the shimmer. But trust me, it's there!) I embossed it, which kind of distressed it in the process, but I liked how it looked so used it. (Like I meant to do that! LOL!) I broke off the shank on the flower button before gluing it down. I also went around the edges of the large panels with a gold pen. A simple sentiment finished the inside.

You can always use more thank you/thanksgiving cards. Why not link your new project up at Shopping Our Stash? While there, check out the amazing cards my teammies created and leave them some bloggy love. Thanks for hanging out with me! Have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #21: P is for Profanity!

Yep, you read that correctly. This week's challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is all about letting loose and swearing up a storm.....if you dare! You know my Sisters and I are all over this! LOL! Here's my PG rated card:

 and the inside:

Pretty self explanatory. My card is based off of Stella Says Sketch #218. When I upload my pic to our DT page, one of my Sistahs *cough, Jessi* made the crack that I didn't dare enough. Sooooooo:

and the inside:

My favorite swear word. ☺ It streams out my mouth at least 15 times a day. Jessi, I hope I have redeemed myself with this second card. LOL!

So, do you dare to swear? If you do, we want to see it! Just link up your card or project at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! While there, check out what my Sisters, and our newest guest designer, Lauren, have created to turn your ears pink! LOL! Thanks for stopping by!

JUST US GIRLS #267 - Color Week

Hello and good morning peeps! It's COLOR Week at JUST US GIRLS! Sharyn is our hostess this week and wow! Did she pick some fabulous colors to play with!

I just love this inspiration picture she found. Here's the card I made:

 and the inside:
(Pay no attention to the fact that I stamped it crooked)

I think I must be the only paper crafter on the planet that doesn't own any square and rectangle Nesties. I cut all my panels with a trimmer. That poloroid shape is no exception, but it's easy to make: First I cut the rectangle then on the back I traced a square shape. Using an X-Acto knife, I cut an X in the square, then took scissors to cut out the square. The red paper is really bright, so I smudged the edges and random spots with gold chalk ink. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in champagne EP. (Note to self: Make sure the chalk ink is completely dry before heat embossing over it. The EP stuck to all the gold smudged places! GAH!!) After taking what seemed like for-ev-er to clean up that mess, I added the border punched trees and the blue DP on the back of the frame. Once the snowflake panel and the poloroid were adhered, I randomly dotted some of the flakes with gold Stickles, because - shiny!

Ready to play along? Sure you are, so don't forget to link up your project at Just Us Girls! While there, check out what my teammates, and our November GD, Tajanna, have made for your viewing pleasure! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #177 - NOT Ready for Christmas

Hello peeps! We have a new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH that's all about NOT being ready for Christmas! What's that mean? Well, we want you to get out one of your gazillion Christmas stamp sets, and use a stamp from it to create something NON-Christmas. How's THAT for a challenge! LOL! Here's what I came up with:

 Here's the inside:

Using one of the ornament stamps from Paper Smooches All Yule Need set, I made a banner! The DP were all scraps. After stamping and fussy cutting, I punched holes in the tops then strung baker's twine through them. They are adhered with foam squares. Both sentiments are stamped in Peacock Feathers DI, then clear embossed. It's about as CAS as I get. ☺

I hope you get a chance to play along with this challenge. Just be sure to link up your project at Shopping Our Stash so we can be dazzled! Please check out what my teammates created for your viewing pleasure while there! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!
